Our Technology
DriverCheck's Proprietary SMS Software

DriverCheck's proprietary Safety Management Software (SMS) is the product of our work with insurance and private companies since 1986. This powerful state-of-the-art product provides a variety of easy-to-use ad-hoc and summary reports via real-time on-line access over the Web. Your reports are there when you need them, at any time you need them - and they are sorted and formatted as you need them.

DriverCheck's SMS and related databases are housed on two powerful Sun computers. To ensure the highest level of service and data integrity, DriverCheck uses two Sun computers - a V880 and a 4000 - each with RAID, which provides redundancy in the event of a problem with a disk. In addition, all records are backed up to tape each evening, and that tape is stored in an off-site bank vault.

DriverCheck uses data-encryption software to ensure that your information is secure. DriverCheck uses secure-socket technology (see the VeriSign logo on our web pages) and PGP encryption software to ensure that your data is secure on its way to and from DriverCheck. Your data cannot be siphoned off or pirated anywhere along the Internet. With DriverCheck, your data is safe.

DriverCheck's Phone Switch contains the newest release of Symposium ACD software. In addition, DriverCheck uses 11 T-1 phone lines from a total of three phone-service providers. In the event that one provider is experiencing problems, calls can be re-routed to other providers or to other T-1 lines.

DriverCheck has backups for utilities, computers, and for its call center. The computer room, and computer workstations are protected from temporary power outages by UPS systems. In the unlikely event of an extended power outage, DriverCheck has a motor generator that can provide power for vital services. Sungard provides DriverCheck with a complete hot-site backup call center, including a Sun computer, should weather or other circumstances require evacuation of our current office building.
